Basic Training

All members of TFE go through the same basic SIM Training, to ensure that everyone has at least a similar, basic grounding in SIMming fundimentals. This information is compiled into a Basic SIM Guide, and the material is tested to ensure retention. All applications to Starfleet: The First Era are flagged and enrolled into the Academy for Basic SIM Training as needed.

Basic Training is divided into two parts. The first stage involves a written, out of character exam. This exam tests basic simming knowledge of both the in character TFE universe, as well as some basic OOC simming theory. The second stage is a practical session, where the student and an instructor work through an in character scenario one on one, in an environment similar to a regular sim. Upon successful completion of both stages, the student graduates and is able to join the fleet.
