Senior Officer's Training

As a simmer progresses and develops, they become more and more involved with directing and running both the plot and the simulation itself. This natural progression and advancement of the player serves two purposes. First, it improves the player's individual skill. Second, it provides a platform to eventually replace more senior personnel as they leave the game (as, inevitably, real life takes hold).

Senior Officer's Training (often called simply "SOT") is an out-of-character course dealing with the in character and out of character responsibilities of being a Department Head. It answers questions like "What is expected of a Senior Officer?" and "How does the Senior Officer help the CO to run the plot?". This course is also often a prerequisite for promotion to a higher rank.
